Boy, I just knew things were going to get down and dirty in the Democratic nomination campaign. After Clintom won three of the four primaries on Tuesday, perhaps as a result of her shift to negative attacks, it is only logical that the Obama campaign retaliate.
First, on Monday, a voluteer adviser to Obama, referred to Clinton as a monster in an interview, and then she resigned today, after some rather pointed criticsm from the Clinton campaign. Gee, what did they expect? If you throw stones, expect to get a few thrown at you. The pious mouthings from the Clinton campaign are enough to make you laugh! See this article for more details.
I went to The Scotsman web site – that’s the Scottish newspaper that did the interview with Samantha Power, the Obama adviser who called Clinton a monter, to see if I could find the original interview. Here is the original story, and I found this article from today’s issue. Read the reader comments. I only looked at a few, but several took The Scotsman to taks for publishing Power’s comment, which was off the recond. I agree with the criticism of ethics of the newspaper in publishing that remark. And journalists wonder why we view them with scorn. It would be appropriate for some heads to roll at The Scotsman, but I’m not holding my breath on that.
For an overview of the tough talk – read that as nasty remarks – out of both campaigns, read this.
